Holland Restorative Circles

A Restorative Circle is a community process for supporting people in conflict. It brings together those who have acted, those directly impacted by the actions, and the wider community. The voluntary gatherings in Holland, Michigan provide a systemic context for dialogue to find new actions that will bring mutual benefit.

Prison Mindfulness Institute

PMI mission is to provide prisoners, prison staff and prison volunteers, with the most effective, evidence-based tools for rehabilitation, self-transformation, and personal & professional development. In particular, we provide and promote the use of proven effective mindfulnessbased interventions (MBI’s). Our dual focus is on transforming individual lives as well as
transforming the corrections system as a whole in order to mitigate its extremely destructive impact on families, communities and the overall social capital of our society.

Restorative Circles

Restorative Circles is a specific restorative practice whose development began with the work of Dominic Barter in Rio de Janeiro in the mid 1990s and continues with a growing community both in Brazil and internationally.

A Restorative Circle is a community process for supporting those in conflict. It brings together the three parties to a conflict – those who have acted, those directly impacted and the wider community – within an intentional systemic context, to dialogue as equals. Participants invite each other and attend voluntarily. The dialogue process used is shared openly with all participants, and guided by a community member. The process ends when actions have been found that bring mutual benefit.
